Cold shrink splice kits contain combinations of items that help users protect spliced connections using cold shrink sleeves. These sleeves start stretched over a temporary tube placed around the wires to be joined and pulled out, while the shrink sleeve remains. This 3M kit splices 15 kV power cable with conductors from 4 AWG to 3/0 AWG and includes funnels, spacer webs, EPDM rubber cold-shrink insulator assemblies, Scotchcast flame-retardant compound, and a full set of Scotch electrical tapes.
